Comment:

 I think these are two separate issues, i.e.:

 * The ability to search by "component" (for lack of a better word), which
 already exists, albeit undocumented. See [http://bit.ly/IiMjDL this
 search] for an example on filtering by ''wp-includes/class-wp-customize-
 control.php''
 * Showing the "component" tree. All information exists in the database,
 except for the relationships needed to build a tree as you suggest. I, for
 one, would love to have this, but I also think that it is premature to
 invest time in this for a 1.0 release.
