I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain why enabling request or not
would need more than on/off?

I've added a link to the BP login form, but sure, it seems like it should
be added to the wp-login form as well.

Sure. There may be a way to hotwire the extended view for signup IDs. I'll
look into it.
