 Hi @teeboy4real

 The goal is to have it merged into Core. Using a feature as a plugin will
 help us to have more people test it: a plugin is always easier to install
 than applying a patch. We believe for such a change, we need a lot of
 testing to make sure we can make it as smoothly as possible.
