 Hi @sabernhardt

 Thanks a lot for your report, screenshots, and patches. I agree with you,
 at the minimum login/register links should appear. I'll have a look at the
 search bar to see how it displays. Let's try to fix this for 8.0.0.

 I'll test your patches asap.
