 It looks like this was originally introduced in
 https://github.com/buddypress/next-template-
 packs/commit/4a8bdc6c114ca714be2c0b70217952180d226bce. There's no
 indication there or elsewhere why it was done like this, but I'm assuming
 it was an oversight. I've done some testing with the declarations applied
 only to `#buddypress` and things look good. Let's go ahead with the
 change.
