 7731.2.patch is another approach that listens to the thread container
 focus to update the active conversation, when a conversation is active,
 Pressing the enter or space key opens the full conversation.

 Here's a screencap of the message to inform the user about how to
 activate/open a conversation :

 Looking at your gif, that might be more in line with what's expected.
