Comment:

 I'd put the line around the `define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );` line.

 No need to restart.  Once you've saved the file on the server, check out
 your profile page and see if the username looks correct.  Note: Your
 profile URL might change as well as a result.

 If it doesn't work, just remove the line and re-save.

 I'm going to close this ticket as this isn't a core problem, but feel free
 to keep replying.
