Comment:

 I am not amused that re-opening this basically de-railed #6783 for 3.0.
 That's something we could have implemented in the intervening 8 weeks.

 As Boone wrote, I think this is too expensive for BuddyPress to do, unless
 someone wants to commit to 3 months effort to address and implement all
 the parts that Boone identified.

 I'm going to close this issue to keep Trac clean. I don't want to put it
 in Awaiting Contributions because I think it's extremely unlikely someone
 would pick this up and implement all the way through. Let's have a
 discussion on Slack or a call if interested parties think otherwise.
