 Hi @neoset

 The default emails provided by WordPress, are intentionally not customised
 by BuddyPress. They'll be sent as plain text, unless you have customised
 them via some other means, as you've found. They were left out from the
 initial implementation because of the fractured and complicated way that
 WordPress builds and sends emails.

 I don't see any reason why BuddyPress could not eventually also customise
 the default WordPress emails, but that won't happen until a contributor
 wants to work on it in the future.
