 Thanks for the report.

 This problem only exists if both BuddyPress and the Groups plugin are
 active and another plugin is utilizing these hooks.

 While it is true that our group hook names are poorly named, unfortunately
 we cannot really change the hook names without breaking plugins that might
 already be using these hooks.

 If we did make such a change, we would have to notify plugin authors of
 our plans to deprecate and replacing these older hook names with the new
 ones.

 Can you notify the authors of the Groups plugin to see if they are willing
 to change their hook name first?
