 Hi @boonebgorges, thanks for your comments.

 • Yes, the `empty()` check was _totally_ wrong. Using `null`works nicely.
 I've added a test for querying for top-level groups.
 • I've added the `@since` documentation to `groups_get_groups()` and
 `BP_Groups_Group::get()`

 I'm adding a new version of the patch that addresses these issues. Thanks
 again!
