 sets, we shouldn't let it hold up the feature.

 `03.patch` is an attempt to test for various character encodings and adds
 some logic to convert the custom slug over to utf-8 before URL encoding to
 match the `$member_slug` passed by BuddyPress.

 Although my tests pass, I do not feel confident enough to commit it.  So
 let's just commit `01.patch` for 2.6.
