 Hello,

 Opening this ticket due to a discussion with @jjj on Slack concerning the
 appropriate method to use for getting the topic count.
 Currently bbPress provides bbp_get_forum_topic_count and BuddyPress
 provides bp_get_group_forum_topic_count.

 @jjj indicated;
 The BuddyPress one is for old bbPress 1.x forums.
 The bbPress one is for new bbPress 2.x forums.

 And said 'The BuddyPress functions should probably be marked as
 deprecated.'

 So am opening this ticket to address that.
