Comment:

 From a core perspective, I'm not sure that Groups would benefit from a
 profile fields system exactly like what we have in Members. A question
 that doesn't have an easy answer is, which group members would be
 permitted to edit the fields?

 Even a more simpler implementation leads me to then being concerned about
 code duplication; refactoring xprofiles to work for both members and
 groups would be a very complicated task.
