 @alexua22 I don't think consensus was ever reached. This is an old ticket.

 I think registration needs to have a very minimal set of data
 requirements. Auto-login may be a good idea worth re-considering, but
 there are complexities around requiring better user access controls over
 content, and how the concept might negatively interfere with other
 WordPress plugins.

 My gut feeling is that the steps for capturing extra data should be after
 registration and account activation, and probably best handled in a
 plugin.
