 I've just posted a request on WP Trac about it, see

 For sure, we'll need to adapt the `bp_setup_nav_menu_item()` filter to
 avoid notice errors (the first part of 6509.patch). The second part of the
 patch is there to show how we could do if the request is ok with
 WordPress.
