 Thanks for the steps, ronia.

 Tried duplicating on twentyfifteen, but twentyfifteen doesn't allow you to
 comment on `attachment` items.  Are you using a plugin to enable comments
 on attachment items or some type of attachment / gallery plugin?

 Also, this might be related to #5669 where we added activity support for
 custom post types.  You could try adding support for the `attachment` post
 type by reading this codex article:
