 BuddyPress does not create any notifications when a status is commented or
 a comment is replied to.

 No new notifications are shown when logged in for comments and replies.

 Notifications do work when @mentioned.

 Using BP 2.4.3 and WP 4.4

 Steps to repeoduce:

 1. Install vanilla WordPress 4.4
 2. Install vanilla BuddyPress 2.4.3
 3. Use default theme
 4. Post a status update
 5. Create a new user
 6. Log in as new user
 7. Comment on status
