Comment:

 I tested `05.patch` with WP 4.4 and Twenty Sixteen as well as with WP 3.8
 and Twenty Twelve and everything works.

 In the patch, there's a space character that needs to be removed on line
 2884 of `bp-core-template.php`, otherwise it's good to go!
