 Yes, they are using emogrifier. But just to reinforce, your idea goes
 beyond that, it would have a bigger impact on the BuddyPress community
 because even non developers would be able to use it.

 But I'm gonna check with Claudio Sanches, from Woothemes/Automattic, why
 they didn't go this way, maybe they didn't thought about or maybe there
 are deeper problems.

 About me helping, I'm a guy coming from the front-end arena, so I consider
 myself a junior PHP developer. I think I can be of assistant on these
 areas:

 Front-end
 Email creation/templates/layouts
 Testing
 Not advanced PHP stuff yet (traits, interfaces and etc)

 I'm a quick study but I lack the broad view of the code you guys from the
 core team have. I've been following tickets here for years and I always
 notice that.

 I think you should create a github repository, so that we can tackle this
 as a plugin first and with more works and improvements, later on, maybe in
 2.4, we integrate into core.

 What do you think?
