 This was my first thought initially.

 But like imath stated in last week's dev chat, the photo is already
 visible in the profile header.  I understand that themes might have
 overriden the profile header so the photo isn't displayed on some pages,
 so maybe we should add a thumbnail of the current photo.

 Would be happy to go with the majority here.

 Sounds like a good idea, but we cannot do this for 2.3, sookriszta.
