 Why are you running this and how and what screen are you viewing, it feels
 to me you are testing outside of actual normal process flow?

 If I have an existing list of sent invites in view in a group and I run
 that filer then the send-invites.php conditional checks kick in and I have
 the 'no friends' message displayed.
