 I'm struggling to quickly find a good blog post, but
 https://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2014/04/16/grunt-coming-to-buddypress/ kind
 of hints at it. We aren't replacing it with a new WordPress theme, but are
 instead relying on our theme compatibility template parts (e.g. switch
 your site to twentytwelve, and BuddyPress content still works -- that's
 the theme compatibility parts).
