Comment:

 Digging a little bit deeper:

 shouldn't all/most cache groups be added as global groups on a multisite
 installation? Like "bp_last_activity", all the "xprofile_data_*",
 "bp_group_invite_count" etc.

 They should contain the same value on each blog and a correct cache
 invalidation isn't possible with local cache groups.
