 i've checked your functions, and i wonder if a unique function that would
 request only once the activity table grouping counts by activity status
 for the displayed user might be better. This way it would avoid some
 queries if for instance the forum is not active or the user cannot publish
 posts.

 I agree that such stats about activities can be interested for the
 community administrator.
