Comment:

 > I appreciate this patch is 11 months old, but I can't think of (or find)
 any type of activity stream content for a public group that has
 hide_sitewide set. I'm wondering if this was particular to a plugin. Has
 anyone got any insights?

 At the very least, this could happen when a group changes status from
 private to public. I don't see any harm in adding this enhancement.
