Comment:

 I say let's commit this so we can close #4622 as well.

 It's the most sensible approach to this issue instead of the suggestion I
 made to enforce WP's method of allowing spaces for usernames in my patch
 for 4622.

 It just doesn't make sense to use spaces for usernames in a social
 network, so we have to deviate from WP here.
