Comment:

 This is a bbPress issue and not a BuddyPress one.

 To duplicate, add a bbPress shortcode to a WP page (like `[bbp-topic-
 index]`).  Next, navigate to the WP page and append a number to the URL
 similar to what henrywright mentioned.

 I'm moving this ticket over to the BuddyPress.org milestone, feel free to
