 I see your point.

 In the real world, though, there is no such thing as a BuddyPress theme
 (ok, I exaggerate...there are 3-4..but : 1. that's not nearly enough, 2.
 with universal compatibility templates being bundled into BuddyPress, BP-
 specific themes will reduce).

 Key options should be built into Admin UI and bundled templates.
