Comment:

 Setting version back as that holds the earliest known version of the
 software that the issue exists in (but I suspect this goes all the way
 back to 1.2 or earlier).

 IIRC, my workaround was just to hack something like get_topics() in
 bbPress and delete all the "try in cache" code first, i.e. letting it pull
 from the DB each time.

 Wondering if this is a bbPress issue or a BuddyPress issue. What do you
 think? It's been a while since I looked at this.
