 john the admin creates group1
 jane creates group2 (private)

 when jane visits group2 to create a forum post, it is posted to group1 and
 everyone can view the private forum post.

 tested twice with new installs
 wordpress 3.5.1 + buddypress trunk-6779 + bbpress trunk 4761
