 Is there a reason members need to click on "upload" after choosing a file
 from their computer's hard drive?

 This seems an extra and unnecessary step.

 Perhaps a more streamlined approach would be for the file to upload
 automatically after the user has selected a photo from their hard drive.

 Once upload is complete, the file cropping stage can occur.
