 What I'm saying is this might not be a BuddyPress problem, but rather with
 the RSS client you are using.

 Do you experience the same problem with WordPress feeds?  You can try by
 loading the WP post feed from your site.  Then, post a new blog post.
 Next, go back to the post feed and refresh it.  If the post feed doesn't
 refresh, then it's a problem with the RSS client.
