 This issues ''was'' for our BuddyPress-Media plugin -

 Actually, in one of our release, we used PHP 5.3 specific codes which
 WordPres sites running on PHP 5.2 or older couln't execute.

 This has been rectified that time only. You can try latest version (which
 should work without any issue)

 If you need more support, you can use http://wordpress.org/support/plugin
 /buddypress-media
 OR https://github.com/rtCamp/buddypress-media (in case you prefer GitHub)
