 That is really weird.

 I hope that others with large installations and activity-query slowness
 can chime in, so that we can narrow down whether this is a peculiarity in
 your system, or if this is somehow BP's fault. I'm wary of implementing
 anything as extreme as FORCE INDEX or IGNORE INDEX in BP if it's not
 necessary to do so.
