 works for me.

 Firebug shows
 >POST http://buddypress.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
 as found
 >302 found 936ms
 But
 >GET http://buddypress.org/
 gets stuck
 >200 OK "spinning wheel" 2.68s
