Comment:

 I think it's a reasonable thing to put in the 1.7 milestone (which I will
 do). But I don't know about a "quick release". We have to have a viable
 solution first, and it's likely that whatever is implemented will not be
 appropriate for a bugfix release.

 I'm wary of going solo on this patch, since the last few times I've dealt
 with the issue I have angered approximately half the users of BuddyPress
 (go figure that one out). So any feedback or ideas on how to honor
 scheduled posts without also allowing for stream-bumping through edits
 would be most welcome. (I think the answer may be in
 wp_transition_post_status, but that'll require a fairly significant
 refactor of how blog posts are currently published in the activity
 stream.)
