Comment:

 I can't reproduce this. I have the same setup as schwarzaufweiss, and I've
 tried any number of different settings for 'Front page displays', both as
 a logged-in user and a non-logged-in user.

 I'm going to assume that this is a fluke resulting from a strange setup (a
 caching plugin, for example) and not a BuddyPress problem. If we can
 manage to come up with specific steps to reproduce, let's reopen the
 ticket.
