 BP currently has a pretty nice nav system consisting of
 bp_core_new_nav_item(), bp_core_new_subnav_item(), etc, which are then
 rendered with bp_get_options_nav(), and so forth. But this only works for
 group and profile navs. In the meantime, directory
 (http://example.com/groups etc) are hardcoded. We should consider an API
 for it.
