 In td.data cells with bp_the_profile_field_value() where the data is
 rendered in a 'p' tag the auto link feature wraps the anchor around the
 paragraph tag. Point? Obviously  inline elements may not enclose block
 level ones.

 Checked this on 1.2.8 and 1.3
