 While the header gradient is a visual improvement, the majority of theme
 designers will probably create a child theme and change the background
 anyway. And we also offer the WP admin the option of changing the
 background via "Appearance > Header".

 These options actually make the header gradient code redundant when
 applied and the seven or so lines of background gradient compatibility
 would be for naught (trivial, I know).

 For these reasons, I would actually like to see the header background
 revert back to a solid color.

 I'd like to get some feedback from others about this (namely theme
 designers).

 I don't mind if the gradient sticks; I'm just thinking from the standpoint
 of redundancy.
