 modemlooper - OK, that makes sense. That's a pretty unorthodox use case
 (where you need the URL for an API but you don't want the page to
 *render*, much less to appear in the nav menu).

 There will be an easier way to do this easily in 1.5. I'll be writing a
 blog post on bpdevel this weekend with some strategies for the new
 has_directory, root_components, and edge cases like buddiphone.
