Comment:

 I tested this out with BP Template Pack disabled and the standard BP theme
 and I had no problem creating groups. I'm thinking it's an issue with the
 code inside creation.php BP Template Pack since it wasn't really updated
 for 3.0.1 and my theme looks rocks solid after following the
 modifications.
