Comment:

 Looks like the problem is that the admin bar is built directly from
 $bp->bp_options_nav, which is dynamic in the way jjj describes.

 It'd be possible to fix this with a rather kludgy conditional in
 bp_adminbar_account_menu(). In my view it's probably not worth putting a
 lot of effort into a non-kludge fix right now, given that we'll have the
 chance to rethink the way the admin bar is built when we begin integration
 with the WP 3.1 bar.
