 DJPaul is right that you should make a child theme or a language pack if
 you want to change the text.

 Agreed about the comma. I'll add it in a second.

 r-a-y - the filter has moved into bp-core-templatetags.php and is called
 bp_get_user_firstname(). The filter seems to work fine.
