 I was testing some other stuff when I realized that my main messages
 table, on a fresh installation of BP trunk, had been named wp_bp_messages
 instead of wp_bp_messages_messages, while the necessary adjustments hadn't
 been made throughout the rest of the messaging component. As a result
 messages couldn't be sent.

 I assume the right thing to do is to make sure that
 $bp->messages->table_name is wp_bp_messages_messages, the same as it
 always was for backward compatibility, but that needs to be checked (and I
 can't do it at the moment).
