 Both of you have valid points. On WPMS you have the option to turn off
 blog tracking, and the whole blog period, but this doesn't exist on WP
 single. The only way to turn off the blog is to manually edit your
 template. @erich73, this is where @nuprn1 is correct, because on single
 installs, the blog can't be turned off through the options, so the filters
 don't ever get turned off (automatically at least). You are free, however,
 to edit your theme, and remove the "Show Blog Posts/Comments" filters.
 You'll find them in bp-default/activity/index.php.

 I'd be willing to whip up a patch if the devs feel it's appropriate. If I
 get some free time I'll may work on a patch anyway, but it's low on the
 list right now without a greenlight.
