Comment:

 If I remember correctly this can have implications in several places and
 would need a good round of dedicated testing before going live, right?

 I think we're running out of time to safely stuff this in and adequately
 test before the release of 1.2.

 I'm going to bump this to a future release. Feel free to keep working on
 this though as it would be great to see this in core.
