Comment:

 I think j.conti is indicating that on a WPSingle install, when you go
 directly to domain.tld/wp-register.php, you get redirected to the standard
 WP registration page, not the BuddyPress one.

 However, if you click on the "Sign Up" link or on the "create an account"
 link, it takes you to the BuddyPress registration page.

 This is all confirmed in 2.9.1 single with 2294
