 Currently, there's no way to set a fixed "posts per topic page" number.

 Having a fixed value (that can be changed on the buddypress forum
 component setup) would allow to link each topic freshness, and also
 implement some plugins like quoting between topic pages.

 I already have a plugin for quoting in bbPress:
 http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/ajaxed-quote/ and I could port it easily
 if the posts per topic page was fixed (last time I checked it relied on a
 GET var).
